about

Rabbit Girls created rhythms, provided the track times to ctephin who created drone tracks of roughly the same lengths. The two CD-rs were played simultaneously by Rabbit Girls on two variable speed CD players and recorded. This is the result.

ctephin suggested using Dante's Inferno as a subject matter for the material, and well... why the HELL not?

In Dante Alighieri's Inferno, part of the Divine Comedy, Malebolge is the eighth circle of Hell. Roughly translated from Italian, Malebolge means "evil ditches". Malebolge is a large, funnel-shaped cavern, itself divided into ten concentric circular trenches or ditches. Each trench is called a bolgia.

Originally released by the Umbrella Noize Collective in 2005 as digital download [UMB041] and later by Roil Noise Records in 2006 as a CD-r, catalog #RNOCDR059
